How to make Desktop 3D from BumpTop software

In computing,BumpTop is a desktop environment that simulates the normal behavior and physical properties of a real-world desk and enhances it with automatic tools to organize its contents. It is aimed at stylus interaction, making it more suitable for tablet computers and handheld PCs. It was created at the University of Toronto as Anand Agarawalas masters thesis. Anand Agarawala also gave a presentation at the TED conference about
his idea. The 1.0 version was released on April 8, 2009, along with a fully featured pro version as a paid upgrade. On April 30, 2010 the author announced that BumpTop was being discontinued and that they were taking the software "in an exciting new direction." Two days later, it was announced that the company had been acquired by Google. On January 5, 2011, Google released a sneak preview video of Android 3.0 Honeycomb showing a 3D desktop with features purportedly taken from BumpTop.

In BumpTop, documents are represented as three-dimensional boxes lying on a virtual desk. The user can position the boxes on the desk using the stylus or mouse. Extensive use of physics effects like bumping and tossing is applied to documents when they interact, for a more realistic experience. Boxes can be stacked with well-defined gestures. Multiple selection is performed by means of a LassoMenu, which fluidly combines in one stroke the act of lasso selection and action invocation via pie menus. BumpTop currently supports Windows XP, Vista, and 7, and a version for Mac OS X was released into private beta on January 18, 2010. The Mac edition omits the pie menu in favor of a more normal selection menu.

There is no explicit dialog box asking the user to confirm this connection at the time it is required.

BumpTop automatically updates to the latest version.

Multi-Touch

With the release of BumpTop 1.2 on October 9, 2009, multi-touch support was added for Windows 7. It added 14 new gestures to the system that used multiple touches on the screen. One such gesture is “scrunching” your hand to pull files into a pile. Just like the regular version of BumpTop, the extensive use of physics is applied to these multi-touch gestures. Multi-touch support has since been added to Mac OS X as well.

Multi-touch support is currently only available in the Pro version of the software.

BumpTop Inside

On August 18, 2009, BumpTop announced their new “BumpTop Inside” program. Partnering with HIS, PowerColor, and SAPPHIRE, a free copy of BumpTop will be included with their graphics cards. The reasoning behind the partnership was to allow BumpTop to be spread to more customers, as well as allowing BumpTop to use the power of the newly bought graphics card. “BumpTop creates a brand new user experience for computer desktops,” said Ted Chen, CEO of TUL Corporation. “We are excited to add this innovative application into our graphics solution. Backed by the power of PowerColor graphics, BumpTop will make the user experience more vivid and change the way the traditional computer desktop is used.”

Laptop computers are one of the most desirable techie gadgets. A laptop is a portable computer that could comfortably be used while on a persons lap - hence the name. It contains all the basic and necessary software (like Office System and Internet access) and hardware (like CD-Rom drive and Modem) features of an ordinary computer and still fits in an ordinary briefcase or backpack.

Advantages of Owning a Laptop

1. Portability.

Being portable, it can be brought along and used anywhere - school, work, vacation trips, unlike the ordinary desktop computer. This is especially handy to a person with a very hectic schedule and busy lifestyle. In this regard, a computer addict doesnt have to be a hermit anymore! He or she can go out under the glaring rays of the sun and still hold on to the best technological breakthrough product.

2. Convenience.

It is useful for the working person, for the student, for the hobbyist, and for a computer addict too. One can take notes in class, type and print assignments and reports, access the Internet and communicate with another person on the other side of the globe. Teachers and public relations officers can make use of the laptop to give a different dimension to their presentations. Some teachers also find students are more motivated when using a laptop.

3. Size and Weight.

The dormer and studio type apartment lessee would agree that a laptop would save them more space.

4. Image.

It cannot be denied that a laptop is cool. With its sleek shape and form, it can be very eye-catching. It also gives the statement that the owner is not outdated, that he or she is in keeping with the times, and finally, computer literate.

Laptops are not that expensive anymore, but this is not the kind of item a person would shop for every other week. Each and every laptop has its own demands, requirements and features. Features you may want to look for:

1. Size and weight. Laptops are portable, but their sizes and weight still vary. To be very portable, it must be small and lightweight. They usually weigh 5 pounds. If it will be used outdoors more often, the weight should not be more than 5 pounds.

The size of the screen is also important. The usual sizes are 12.1, 13.3 and 14.4 inches. Tiny screens, as small as 8 inches, are ideal for portability, but the demands of the eyes - to have a squint-free screen - should also be considered.

2. Sturdy. A laptop must be taken care of, but it would be more ideal to have a tough and sturdy one that will be able to withstand any accidental knock or minor bump. There are models available with shock-resistant hard drive mounts. It has to be durable enough if it will be taken outdoors often.

3. Internet connection. One has to be in touch with the rest of the online community. There are wireless connections offered already. To one with budget constraints, an ordinary 56Kbps modem would do to connect to the rest of the world.

4. USB port. This should also be carefully checked out so that the laptop can be used in many more ways. There should be at least one USB port if not more, for future expansion of adding other hardware. The USB port can be used for external keyboard and mouse, but it is most useful to create connection with digital cameras, external drives, and MP3 players.

5. Battery life. The battery life of the laptop must allow the user to use and enjoy it outdoors or in areas that do not offer power resources for the public. A reasonable battery life should not be lower than 5 hours. The battery life will determine the extent of freedom that can be enjoyed with the laptop.

There are 3 kinds of batteries available.

The Lithium-ion (Li+) is usually chosen. Li+ batteries have range that can offer the best quality.

Nickel metal-hydride (NiMH) batteries are less expensive, although they do not excle in terms of battery life.

Nickel cadmium (NiCad) batteries are the ones to stay away from. They require constant recharging.

6. Technical specifications. There should be enough RAM, storage space / hard drive and computing speed. The technical specifications would depend on the most probable purpose of the laptop to the owner. If the laptop would be used for playing 3D games, it is ideal to get at least a 256 RAM. If several music or video files will be stored, a larger hard drive should be considered, 40 gigabyte is ideal.

7. Price. Finally, the laptop should be reasonably priced. There are refurbished laptops available out there for those with strict budgets but there is a way to save money and still get the ideal laptop.

First, the purpose that the laptop will serve must be properly ascertained. This will avoid purchasing laptops with expensive features that would end up being unused. Dont buy 80 gigabyte of storage space if only 3 gigabytes will be used for documents.

Stick to your budget. There are many attractive add-ons in the computer shop like glow-in-the-dark mouse pads or wireless mouse. These may not be necessary and can add to the total cost.

Negotiate for add-on features. Lastly, it wouldnt hurt to try to negotiate for the price. 5% off can go a long way.

Compatibility with other data recovery software

RAID recovery software comparison

We tested the most well-known RAID recovery software to see how they perform in an almost real-life environment. The following tools were tested:

Stage 1:

Run Apple Software Update

Run Apple Software Update on Mac to check for and install OS X as well as update the printer driver.

Turn on printer, and be sure that it has paper in the tray.
Connect your USB cable to a printer and a Mac, or be sure that printer is connected to a wired or wireless network.
On your Mac, click on the Apple menu (), and then click Software Update, or click About This Mac, and then click Software Update. A listing provided updates display.

Note :

Depend version OS X, you may need to page refresh to view the latest listing of available updates. Click Save at the top of the menu bar, and then click on Reload page to update the listing. If no updates show, continue steps to add your printer to Printers listing.

4. Click Install and Update All to install the update.

Stage 2 :

Add your printer to the Printers listing

To ensure that your Mac communicate with the printer, add it to listing printers Mac.

Click on Apple menu, and then click on System Preferences.
Click the Print & Fax, Print & Scan, and Printer & Scanner, and then check if the show name of your printer in the Printers listing.
To do the following, depends in whether printer is registered or do not:

If your printer was listed, delete and re-add the printer to confirm communication with the Mac. Click the name of your printer, click on minus sign (), and then remove the printer. Once the printer is removed, click the plus sign (), click on Add Printer Scanner and, click the name of your printer, and then proceed to the next step.
If your printer was not registered click the plus sign (), click on Add Printer Scanner and, click the name of your printer, and then proceed to the next step.
If your printer was not listed in the Add Printer Scanner and windows, be sure that the printer is connected to a Mac with a USB cable, and that it is on a wired or wireless network the same with your Mac. See the frequently asked questions in this document to try to resolve problems connecting, and then try to add the printer again.

4. Click the Use and Print Using box, and then select your printer name in the pop-up menu.
5. Click the Add to add a printer to your list.

If you are prompted to install the printer software from Apple, click on Download and Install to complete the installation.
If the Software is currently do not available message appears, click Cancel and then proceed to the steps in this document to download the driver from HPs website (if available).

6. Close Print and Fax, Print and Scan, and Printer and Scanner window.
7. Try to print.

If you can print, scan, and fax (depends on the model), you install the drivers and can now use your printer. If you want to know whether software and driver feature the complete package available that may have more options and settings, proceed to the next step.
If you are unable to print, scan, and fax, or if you lose some of the printer functions with the Apple Software Update driver, the driver features a full download to your printer may be available from the HP website. Proceed to next step.

Download and install the full feature the HP printer drivers and software (if available)

Turn the printer on.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer (if your already connected). When printer is connected to your network, leave it connected.
Go to the Drivers and Download HP.
When Welcome to the HP support page opens, follow these steps:

In the Enter a product name or number field, type your printer model or number.
In the Question or keywords field, type drivers, and then press Enter, your may need to choose your printer model number from listing printer models are the same.
In addition to the picture your printer, click the name of your printer.
On HP support site, click Drivers.

       6. Choose your operating system, and then click Next.
          List of display drivers and other downloads.
       7. Scroll down the page, and then click on Driver - Product Installation Software.

       8. Click the Download next to the full-featured software and driver listed, and then follow the instructions to save the driver to your computer.Open the folder where the files are stored software (usually Downloads), double-click the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

When your can download and install the drivers, you can now use your printer.

Hello my friends, last lesson we explain the first part of computer software and we explain operation systems. Today will explain the second part of software .It will be about software application systems and its types and function of every application .Lets start now

Software application

There are five types of software application like:

System Software
Commercial Ware
Shareware
Free Ware
Public Ware

We will explain each type in details

System Software

Programs are present on the computer and previously stored on the disc hard when you buy it. When you use the computer for the first time may be needed to enter some information to composition. This is like that we define the type of computer printer connected to it, and if there is a link to the Internet and the like. Some tasks can be added to the system software whenever the need arises. For example, if you change the printer, we need to download additional software for a computer to deal with the new printer.

Commercial Ware

Programs are offered for sale commercial programs, as a group office programs (Microsoft office). For example, Commercial programs are available for thousands of uses, such as drawing, accounting and business management and editing movies. And commercial software is often licensed to the user rather than just selling the customary way, with surrounding different conditions associated with their use, as described earlier.

Shareware

Many programmers and hobbyists no programs that are available for free. And distribution of these programs may be via the Internet or distributed with cylinder magazines. These programs are usually available for some time before buying. Pay for these programs depend on trust and honor. If the user wants to continue to use the software after the trial period, he must pay fees to the author

Free Ware

Be similar to programs without participation fees are distributed free of charge and is not expected to pay for them and some authors are responsible for the quality of the program. 3D Home Architect was introduced by software publisher, Brøderbund, in 1993. The product was a scaled down version of Chief Architect’s professional software.
Following its relationship with Advanced Relational Technology (now known as Chief Architect software), Broderbund partnered with Cadsoft Envisioneer to continue the production of 3D Home Architect. Cadsoft Envisioneer is a developer of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Version 5.0 of 3D Home Architect was published with Cadsoft technology, making it incompatible with versions 4.0 and below, owing to the change in technology developers.
Eventually, a DIY home design software company named Punch! purchased 3D Home Architect and the technology. Punch! continued to publish 3D Home Architect for a brief time, but discontinued the product in favor of its own brand around the year 2008.
In May 2010, software publisher Encore, Inc. (a subsidiary of Navarre Corporation) purchased Punch! and 3D Home Architect with it. Encore.com now controls the entire Broderbund family of products including PunchSoftware.com, PunchCAD.com, and Encore.com.
